Fabulous 55 Plus Seniors

This club was established in 1955 to meet the needs of the senior citizens of the parish. It provides the opportunity for people in this age group to meet with those who have similar issues and life experiences. The group meets on the second and fourth Friday of each month from September until June. We have many social events throughout the year, such as our "pot luck" Octoberfest and Memorial Day Picnic. There are several luncheons: our Christmas luncheon in December, our Anniversary luncheon in February and the End-of-year luncheon in June. We also sponsor trips during the Christmas season and in the Spring. Guest speakers are invited to come to share topics of interest to our seniors throughout the year. Fabulous 55 Plus is based on the principle of non-discrimination as to race, creed, color, or gender.

If you have any questions or would like to become a member, contact George Dolnycky at 215-806-7654 or email dolny@comcast.net.

Men of Malvern

The Malvern Retreat House hosts a variety of day, evening, overnight, and weekend retreats throughout the year. A group of men in the parish attends a weekend Men of Malvern retreat in early November each year. Parishioners have attended other retreats, such as the Valentine's Day evening of reflection in February. Those needing a ride can usually carpool with another parishioner.

Respect Life Committee

All life is precious from conception to natural death. Our committee supports activities in all aspects of life. Also, we clarify the Church's teaching on respecting life.

Our committee assists most specifically those programs emphasizing the beginning of life and supporting new and young Moms searching for assistance, both financial and spiritual during pregnancy and early childhood. Fathers and families are invited to participate. Outreach programs include the baby bottle campaign in May that donates money raised to the Bucks County Pro-Life Coalition. The contribution supports programs for women in need such as the Women's Center in Bristol. We participate in the Life Chain and in weekly and monthly vigils at the planned parenthood facilities that perform abortions in Warminster, on Comly road in Northeast Philadelphia and at 12 th and Locust Street. In January, we organize the parish bus trip to Washington DC for the March for Life.

God Bless all that support the Assumption Pro-Life efforts. Please join us in any or all of these ventures to promote the Right to Life. Our committee meets on the last Wednesday monthly in the Hall Meeting Room from 7:00-8:00PM.  Any questions please contact Steve Jackson at 267.315.5294 or email sjjackson76@aol.com

St. Joseph's Bench

Formed in early 2020, "St. Joseph's Bench" is the newest parish organization at Assumption. Named for St. Joseph (husband of Mary, foster-father of Jesus, patron of the Universal Church), this group was organized to promote spirituality, prayer, and fellowship among men of the parish ages 18 years and older. Its name is meant to suggest that each Catholic man - whether as a husband, father, or son - is a work in progress being fashioned into a faithful Christian on St. Joseph's work bench. While the group itself is a work in progress, proposed activities include faith-sharing, prayer, discussion of book chapters/articles on spiritual topics and men's issues, watching faith-based Catholic programs and films, and enjoying each other's company and conversation. It meets on the 1st Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Assumption Media Center (AMC) at the back of the school. New members are welcome. For more information, please contact Deacon Eric at 215-357-1221, x 24) or deaconeric.abvm@gmail.com.

Women's Club

The Women's Club consist of an active group of women in the parish who meet several times a year to coordinate our activities. Some of these include monthly Bingo which is usually held the 1st Friday of the month. Another is the Christmas Craft Fair which is held in November. We also do prep for other parish events. We welcome new members and any new ideas for ways to help the parish.
